Wheatley Heights is a small area in the Town of Babylon in Western Suffolk County. With a population of 5,133 in a 1.4 square mile area, it is the smallest community in the Township. Residents of Wheatley Heights attend the Half Hollow Hills School School District.
Wheatley Heights is an almost completely residential area with a medium sized strip mall in the center of the community. It continues to share the same zip code with Wyandanch and is also serviced by the Wyandanch Fire Dept. Wheatley Heights is bordered by Wyandanch, Melville, Dix Hills and Deer Park. There are several summer day camps in the area, an Adventure Park which provides zip lining fun for ages 7 and up, and a new Soccer Sports Complex. With the lack of retail outlets, Wheatley Heights residents do most of their shopping in the neighboring communities of Deer Park and Melville.
